Barbara E. FitzGerald

Barbara Elizabeth FitzGerald, age 93, of Golden Valley, MN (formerly of Duluth/Silver Bay/Minnetonka MN and FL) passed away peacefully Saturday, May 16, 2020 at Sunrise of Golden Valley.

She was born August 16, 1926 and raised in Rockland MA, the daughter of John F. and Ella(Badmington)McKenna. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John A. FitzGerald.
Barbara, her husband and children moved to Minnetonka MN in December 1962 from Middleboro MA.
She is survived by all her children: Mary Jo Zak, Hopkins; Ken(Kathy), St. Louis Park; Jack(Sally), Duluth; James Michael(Joan), Silver Bay; Paul(Robin), Anoka; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.  She and John were very active for many years in the St. Francis MN Lions Club.  Barbara was a loving mother, nanny and great-nanny who was wonderfully energetic and witty. Her three most important things in life were Faith, Family and Chocolate!

We all will cherish our dear “Nanny’s” memory and miss her dearly—always in our hearts! “Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, but love leaves a memory no one can steal.”

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
