Benjamin Pike Obituary

Benjamin “Ben” Pike, age 73 of Burnsville, MN passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2022.

He was born to Nancy and Stewart Pike on June 11, 1948 in Honolulu, Hawaii.  Ben and his family lived in Japan for a few years; one of Ben's first memories there was living next to a soy sauce factory.  They lived all over the country throughout Ben’s childhood, moving for his father’s job as a civilian contractor for the U.S. Military. He was a graduate of the University of Hawaii, with a degree in marketing.  He spent the majority of his career working in sales and marketing at Control Data Corporation in Bloomington, MN.

Ben was a diehard Minnesota sports fan. He loved attending Twins games and was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan.  Ben was a devoted family man. Always attending every event, concert, skating competition and soccer game for his children and grandchildren.  Ben and his family spent many summers vacationing up north at Clam Shell Beach Resort, where Ben enjoyed taking his family out on the boat and fishing during their stay.   Ben’s passion was photography and restoring vintage cameras.  Later in his retirement, he established a very successful vintage camera business, which had been a lifelong dream.

He will be lovingly remembered by his two daughters Ally (Nick) Stevenson and Laura (Aaron) Holm;  best friend Sandy Pike; grandchildren Heidi, Blake, and Shane,  one sister Shirley (Mike), niece Stephanie and one brother, Larry.

Ben is preceded in death by his parents, Stewart Pike and Nancy Yoneshigi and his beloved, grandmother, Laura.

A celebration of his life will be planned for a later date.
