Brian Hartmann

On Thursday, November 5, 2020, Brian James Hartmann, loving father of three children, passed away at the age of 51. Brian was born the youngest of eight children on June 1, 1969 to Gary and Lila Hartmann in Arlington, MN. He received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota where he was a multi-year letter winner for the Gopher baseball team (1989-1992). Brian and Eileen Schaller were married in 1993 and resided in Andover, MN.  They were blessed with three boys Tyler, Blake and Nolan. They later divorced in 2015. Brian had a passion for life and spending time with family. Some of his favorite hobbies included hunting, fishing, playing cards and anything baseball. He was known for his humility, incredible athletic ability and infectious smile.

Brian was preceded in death by his father Gary and his mother Lila.

He is survived by sons Tyler (Shayne), Blake and Nolan; grandson Rockwell; brothers David and Michael (Robin); sisters Sue (Gene) Schultz, Patty (Randy) Geister, Cathy (Steve) Hansen, Jean (Rick) Stevens and Julie (Don) Rachel; 21 nieces and nephews; significant other Kris Herd.

There will be a memorial service Monday, November 16, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Grace Church in Eden Prairie. Visitation will take place one and a half hours prior to the service at the church. Following the ceremony, burial will be at 4:30 pm at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Arlington, MN.  Brian’s family has set up a GoFundMe page to assist with medical expenses and funeral arrangements.  It can be found at https://www.gofundme.com/f/brian-hartmann-fund
