Curtis O. Stene

Curtis O. Stene (83) of Harrisonville, MO and formerly of Rosemount, MN born August 2, 1938 to Alfred and Alma Stene of Boyceville, WI died peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, October 14, 2021.

Curt married his high school sweetheart Darla Mae Lerch, on July 11, 1959. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Alma, sister Arlys, brothers Daryl, Hugh, and Alfred Jr., infant son, and daughter Carrie.

He will be deeply missed by his loving wife Darla and children, Julie (Merritt), Amy (Michael), Jeffrey (Holly), and Brad (Jinger); grandchildren, Michael A, Micah, Westin, Marisa (Josh), Morgan (Joshua), Megan, Kayla, Joel (Emily), Lilly, Ella, Luke, Olivia, Avery, and Brayden; great grand-child Ava; He is survived by his sister Janet (Don); brother-in-law (Arlan), and many nieces, nephews, and close friends.

Curt was a devout Christian and faithful servant of the Lord. He taught Sunday School for over 40 years, and was a member of the church choir in Rosemount, MN. He was a retail store manager at Montgomery Ward in Hastings, MN for 30 years, and later worked at Skyline Displays in Eagan, MN before retirement at age 75. Shortly after retirement,  he and his wife Darla moved to Independence, MO where they resided for 7 years. Curt loved vacationing with family in Luck, WI and in his later years he and Darla spent many weekends in Park Rapids, MN where they enjoyed boating and fishing together on Straight Lake. Curt was a skilled craftsman, and handyman; loved classic cars, 50’s music, and was an avid Green Bay Packers fan.

Visitation will take place from 5-7 PM followed by a funeral service from 7-8 PM on Thursday, October 21st at Berean Baptist Church (309 County Rd 42 E, Burnsville, MN). Burial will take place on Friday October 22nd at Tiffany Cemetery in Boyceville, WI.
