Gene Kelm

February 2, 1948 ~ August 27, 2023 (age 75) 75 Years Old

Obituary

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend Gene “Geno” M. Kelm, age 75, of Litchfield, originally South St. Paul, passed away peacefully on the morning of August 27, 2023
following a short battle with cancer.

Gene was born February 2, 1948 in St. Paul and grew up in South St. Paul. He married the love of his life, Jane, on August 2, 1969 in a private ceremony while on leave from his tour of service in
Vietnam where he served in the United States Marine Corps. Following his service, he and Jane raised two children together in South St. Paul before retiring to Litchfield, where Thirsty Thursdays
were born. They celebrated 54 years of marriage on August 2, 2023.

We will never forget our “Groundhog’s” predictions for early spring, training Brent and “the boys” as auto enthusiasts, his fish-bowl margaritas in Las Vegas, and his angling efforts which
resulted in award-winning minnows caught on film.

Gene was preceded in death by parents George and Kitty Kelm and brother Timothy Kelm.

Survived by spouse Jane (Grinsteinner) Kelm, daughter Annita (Alan) Smythe, son Brent (Jessica) Kelm, sister Karen Mazza, brother Russell
(Kathy) Kelm, and grandchildren Owen, Jasmine, Mason, Julia, and Lauren.

Visitation will be at 10:00 am, Prayer Service at 11:00 am, on Friday September 8, 2023, with luncheon to follow in the Chilstrom Hall at First Lutheran Church, 703 S Sibley Ave, Litchfield, Minnesota, 55355.
