Henry J. Myrtvedt
June 20, 1945 – April 20, 2024
Henry John Myrtvedt, “John”, died peacefully at the age of 78 in his room at Providence Place on Saturday, April 20, 2024. John was born on June 20, 1945, in Minneapolis, MN, to Henry and Margaret (Collin) Myrtvedt. He grew up in Minneapolis and graduated from Roosevelt High School. John worked as an usher at the Twins Metropolitan Stadium, and as a salesman for both Work Lite and LifeLine Incorporated.
John loved to play the harmonica and sing and would share these talents whenever possible: at church, nursing homes, and times of fellowship. Some of his joys were spending time with those close to him, going out to dinner, watching professional sports, fishing, camping, attending church, and celebrating holidays. John’s kindness and compassion drew many people to him; he made friends wherever he went. John had a great heart of generosity and served the needy at Good in the Hood food shelf. John shared his faith in Christ witnessing in downtown Minneapolis. John lived a life of patience and fortitude. His strength in difficulty was an inspiration to all those who knew him. John’s faith in God and love for his Savior, Jesus Christ, were the most important things to him, and they gave him the courage to live day by day. He was a man who prayed. His family and friends will greatly miss him.
