Jamie Ray Anderson, age 45, of Bloomington MN passed away on Dec 30th, 2021 after a long struggle with alcoholism.
Jamie was born May 12th, 1976 to Lori Lea Anderson. In 1979 he became the beloved son of grandparents Leonard and Muriel Anderson upon Lori’s death, along with his brother Jesse and sister Alecia. He grew up in Bloomington and attended Kennedy High School, where his love of baseball, cars, and his academic capabilities flourished. Jamie was incredibly intelligent and attended Cornell College in Iowa, majoring in Chemistry and minoring in Photography. Before graduating he moved back home and started working in the automotive mechanics industry. He then spent many years working at Mystic Lake as a supervisor of table games (pit boss), which suited his aptitude for mathematics and knack for all card games. Jamie loved all animals and had a kind, sensitive soul and a great sense of humor.
The light of Jamie’s life was his son Brandon, born in 2007. They shared a love of football and would cheer for the Vikings together and play Madden football often. Brandon fondly remembers many trips to the Mall of America where he and his Dad rode rides and attended Vikings events. Jamie was an avid baseball and basketball fan as well and would plan his days around watching every game with his mom Muriel, who he cared for over the years before her passing.
Jamie is survived by his son Brandon, 14, of Eagan MN, brother Jesse (Paige) Anderson, and sister Alecia (Patrick) Kowski. In addition, immediate family including Joleen (Tom) Squire, Butch (Anita) Anderson, Leonard (Charlene) Anderson, Joshua (Jodi) Anderson, Karly (Mike) Neville, and James Neville will hold many lifelong memories of Jamie close. He is preceded in death by his mother, Lori Lea Anderson, his mother Muriel Anderson, his father Leonard Anderson, and his Aunt Karen Anderson.
Funeral will take place Thursday, January 6th, 2022 at Grace Church of the Nazarene in Inver Grove Heights at 4pm with visitation 1 hour prior. A gathering and luncheon will take place immediately following the service. A Private committal service will be Friday January 7th, 2022 at Resurrection Cemetery in Mendota Heights.
