Michael (Mike) Sangrene
June 5, 1955 – July 28, 2023 (age 68)
Biblical Michael was a powerful protector and guardian, standing up for the people of God during their times of struggle and trouble. And it came as no surprise but a blessing to all that Michael Lee Sangrene (1955-2023) lived a long life exemplifying those values. For those of us who survived him, we have much to reflect on and celebrate, of how he enriched our lives, of how the world and we are so much for the better because of the time we had with him.Imagine it from his perspective - of all the eras and generations he lived through and of all the people he had met. What was the world like before him? What will we still see in our lifetimes?
Imagine the struggles and triumphs he had overcoming dyslexia to become a successful engineer. What things had Mike seen as he traveled the world for his job? What thoughts did he have as he stood on the deck of his family cabin, staring out onto the lake? Or out in the woods hunting? Of being with family and friends fishing in Canada? What had they discussed and shared? What memories have they cherished? When you reflect back on the world of 1955 when Mike was born. How much has changed? Imagine the world of 1979 when he married his wife, Deborah. Or when his children Michael (1983) and Matthew (1985) were born. What amazing things had he seen between then and when his grandchildren Henry (2012), Gavin (2013), and Eve (2015) were born?
Celebrate how he lived, of all the things he still looked forward to, of how he wanted to be in our lives and spend his precious time on Earth with us. We - his father, wife, children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews - have countless wonderful memories with Mike to cherish. And we are thankful and will always be reflective of all that is still ahead of us in our lifetimes. Thank you, Michael Lee Sangrene, for the blessing of being in our lives.
