Patricia Kamis Obituary

On Thursday, September 24, 2020, Patricia Jean Kamis, loving wife, passed away at the age of 57.

Patti (never with a “y”, despite her love of Peppermint Patty from “Peanuts” and Girl Scout Thin Mint cookies, always with an “i”!), was born on March 10, 1963, in Saint Paul, Minnesota, to David Joseph Goering Sr and Madonna Marie Goering.

Her elder siblings (David, deceased; Steven, surviving; Susan, surviving; Barbara, deceased) welcomed her to the family as siblings always do, loving always, arguing once in a while, getting into trouble with their parents together, and helping her become the person she was, and always will be.  The family was joined later by younger sister Jennifer (surviving), who added her own influences to Patti’s beautiful personality.

Patti spent four years in peacetime Stateside service in the United States Navy in clerical and base security in Annapolis, Maryland.  She then performed various retail jobs, and then became a caretaker to other children, and then a loving and wondrous joy to her husband, Theodore Kamis (surviving) for seventeen years.

Patti loved to cook – not quite as good as her brother Steven, who cooks for a living, but he enjoyed her cooking, so it must have been really good!)

And Patti doted on her nieces Jessica and Jordyn and Alisha, nephew Nick, as well as grandnieces Dakota, Sofia, and Fiona, and grandnephew Cody, they always made her happy, and brought joy to her heart til the very end.

A graveside service time/date is to be determined; if possible, they will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

Please do not send flowers.

In lieu of a memorial service or wake, Patti wanted to share a special recipe – Swedish meatballs and sauce (the sauce is good for making scalloped potatoes as well).

Email her husband for this recipe at: acmebetatest@yahoo.com, and he will respond as soon as he can.
