Sherry Lee Cesarek

Sherry Lee Cesarek, age 68, of Crystal, MN, died Monday, January 4, 2021 at home surrounded by family.

Sherry was born to Donald and Dorothy Johnson on April 7, 1952, in Alexandria, MN She and her twin sister, Merry, were 2nd and 3rd of six children. After attending elementary and secondary school in MN and TX, Sherry graduated from Rosemount High School in 1970. In 1971 Sherry married Greg Cesarek in Apple Valley, MN. Over the course of their 32 year marriage, Sherry and Greg had three children: April, Marc, and Dustin. They resided in several states including Minnesota, Hawaii, Wisconsin, Illinois, and Nevada. In 1996 their beautiful 25 year old daughter April, succumbed to leukemia.Though Sherry and Greg divorced in 2003, they continued to stay connected sharing in many family events. Sherry was certified in accounting through coursework at the Minnesota School of Business. After several jobs working in that area, Sherry decided to complete college degree. She attended University of Nevada, Las Vegas finishing her Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. She was lucky enough to work as head accountant for the "O" show of Cirque du Soleil. After moving back to Minnesota, Sherry found accounting work with Nexus. She earned the respect and admiration of co-workers and supervisors. Sherry advanced to roles involving more responsibility as she continued her work with both high expectations for herself and coworkers. Several of her peers became close friends. Sherry enjoyed many hobbies and favorite pastimes. These included gardening, crocheting, family camping and gatherings, playing Bingo, watching Minnesota Vikings football, and entertaining family and friends.

Sherry was preceded in death by her daughter, April and both of her parents and both parental in laws.Sherry is survived by her two sons Marc (Jenny) and Dustin(Kim) and her beloved granddaughters: Ella, Reagan, and Fiona.

Survivors also include her five siblings and many extended family members on both the Johnson and Cesarek sides. She will be greatly missed by all.

There is restricted attendance for the service at Advent Lutheran church in Crystal, MN, but it is being streamed via zoom. The link can be found on the church web site.
